Two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals, under the leadership of Michael P. Price, is thrilled to announce the 2011 musical season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. The 48th season includes three fantastic musicals that are sure to delight theatregoers: the tap dance filled Gershwin tuner My One And Only will run from April 15 - June 25; the monumental American classic Show Boat featuring such memorable songs as "Ol' Man River", and "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man" will run from July 1 - September 11; and the film noir style musical comedy City of Angels will run from September 23 - November 27.

S'Wonderful! S'Marvelous! The glamorous ‘20s come roaring back to life when a barnstorming aviator falls for a bathing beauty. Their romantic pursuit is sidetracked by a series of zany escapades but together they navigate their way to a happy ending. This tap dance spectacular with an incomparable Gershwin score - "S'Wonderful"," Funny Face", "Kickin' The Clouds Away" and more - will have you floating on air!

My One And Only features music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin with book by Peter Stone and Timothy S. Mayer. It will be directed by Ray Roderick (Goodspeed:Double Trouble, Singin' in the Rain, and 42nd Street.) and choreographed by Kelli Barclay (Goodspeed: How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Associate Choreographer on Lucky in the Rain and George M!).

Come aboard for an epic American musical! A sweeping tale spanning four decades, Show Boat is a journey into the lives, loves, and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the mighty Mississippi River. Jerome Kern's masterpiece is a treasure trove of unforgettable music including "Ol' Man River", "Can't Help Loving That Man", and "You Are Love". Don't miss this timeless triumph of the Broadway stage!

Show Boat features music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and is based on the novel Show Boat by Edna Ferber . It will be directed by Rob Ruggiero (Broadway: Looped. Goodspeed: 1776 , Camelot, and Annie Get Your Gun.) The choreographer is to be announced. Show Boat will be sponsored by Webster Bank.

Swinging, sexy , smart, and funny! - An ingenious spoof of 1940s Hollywood and whodunit films with side-by-side stories about the "real" world of a detective fiction writer and the "reel" world of his fictional gumshoe hero. One balances romance and rewrites, while the other slinks through a film noir netherworld of thugs and femmes fatales. Winner of tons of Tony Awards, it's a witty detective thriller with a jazzy score that really kills.

City of Angels has music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by David Zippel, and book by Larry Gelbart. This boppin' musical comedy will be directed by Darko Tresnjak (Goodspeed: Amour , A Little Night Music, and Carnival! ) and choreographed by Peggy Hickey (Goodspeed: Brigadoon, On the Twentieth Century, and Carnival!). City of Angels will be sponsored by Liberty Bank and Connecticut Light & Power.
