Tony Award nominee Montego Glover (Broadway's Memphis), George Faison (renowned director & choreographer), 3 Mo' Divas (singing group), Dr. George Francois (composer and pianist) and Theatre Of the Oppressed (performance theater group) will be among the performers at Small Steps, Great Leaps - An Evening of Inspiration-a benefit event being presented by the Ministry of Education at The Riverside Church and The Power of One on Sunday, May 16, at 6:00 p.m. at The Riverside Church, 91 Claremont Ave. (bet. 120th & 122nd St.), Morningside Heights.

Hosted by President Barack Obama impressionist Reggie Brown, Small Steps, Great Leaps will showcase performances from Power of One's friends and supporters in benefit of The Riverside Church's Ministry of Education. The event will introduce the community at large to Power of One and its mission to enrich and enhance the lives of Harlem's diverse, multi-cultural residents.

Guests speaking and performing at Small Steps, Great Leaps include: Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: SVU); S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order); George Faison (renowned director & choreographer); Fab 5 Freddy (hip-hop icon); Dr. Rani Whitfield (CNN's Hip-Hop Doc); Dr. George Francois (composer and pianist); Reggie Brown (President Obama impressionist); Sanford Rubenstein Esq. (civil rights attorney); Montego Glover, Tony Award nominee of Broadway's Memphis musical; Terrence J (host of BET's 106 & Park); 3 Mo' Divas (singing group) and Theatre Of the Oppressed (performance theater group).

The Power of One is a community project created by like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses with the hopes of creating a social action network that encourage communities to spend, save, invest and engage in cause marketing in their own communities. This sustainability program re-invests each dollar right back into the community to support Power of One businesses and five charities that are considered flow partners. Funds are also ear-marked for a beautification project.

Tickets to the benefit event are $15 for students and seniors; $25 general admission; and $35 for admission to the event and a special V.I.P. reception.
