Joe's Pub presents Gay Marshall July 14, reprising her one-woman tribute show to Edith Piaf, 'Piaf: Queen of Heart.'

Marshall, who recently played in the Off-Broadway revival of Jacques Brel IS ALIVE and LIVING IN PARIS will be joined by Eric Svejcar on piano, Deni Bonet on violin, Charlie Giordano on accordion, Steve Gilewski on bass and Jim Pederson on cello.

According to press notes Marshall will perform "a unique view of her subject at odds with the popular perception of Piaf as an overwhelmingly tragic figure; Marshall portrays the joy and mischief of her subject as well. Marshall translated many of the show's songs herself, and she has woven the repertoire in a way that makes it as accessible and meaningful for non-French speakers."

Marshall, who played DiAna Morales in A Chorus Line on Broadway and created Grizabella in the French production of Cats, has lived and worked mainly in Europe since she fell in love with French photographer, Jean-Louis Blondeau (Man On Wire). Marshall has also appeared in several productions of Baker's Wife.

Marshall will perform on July 14 at 7pm. Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street.

Tickets are $25 and are available online Here.
