Celebrated cabaret performer Jamie DeRoy will continue the monthly series of Wednesday evenings of her Multi MAC Award-winning variety show "Jamie DeRoy & friends" on Saturday, November 4th at 8:30 PM at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway, entrance on 95th St.)

The event will feature an evening of country music, with special guest Grammy Award-winner Larry Gatlin.  The featured performers are: stage performer and radio personality Erich Bergen, "One Life to Live's" Emmy-nominated Kathy Brier (Hairspray), Drama Desk Award-nominee Leslie Kritzer (The Great American Trailer Park Musical) and Theatre World Award-winner Deven May (Warrior at NYMF, Bat Boy).  Barry Kleinbort is the director of Jamie DeRoy & friends and Brian Nash serves as musical director.

Gatlin had his first Top 20 hit, "Sweet Becky Walker," in 1974.  In 1976, his brothers, Steve and Rudy, joined him and the three went on to make renowned hits including the Grammy Award-winning "Broken Lady," "I Don't Wanna Cry," "Love Is Just a Game," and "Statues Without Hearts." The brothers "rekindled their ole' gospel music flame" with the 2005 release of "Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers Sing Their Family Gospel Favorites", and in so doing, lit the way toward their 9th Grammy nomination to date.  Circa 2006, Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers are still performing live across the US.

"The colorful cabaret series, which has been thrilling New York City audiences for the past 15 years and serves as the basis for deRoy's award-winning cable television show, spotlights a wide variety of well-known entertainers and newcomers lighting up the cabaret, theater, and comedy worlds," according to press notes.

deRoy has won eight MAC Awards, four Back Stage Bistro Awards, nine Telly Awards and CaB Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award for her extensive work on both stage and screen. deRoy has produced seven CDs in the Jamie DeRoy & friends series on the Harbinger label. Her theatre producing credits include Broadway's Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life; Say Goodnight, Gracie, and Indian Blood.  Her TV and film producing credits include the Emmy-nominated "The Biggest Little Operas in Town" for Channel 13 and Rick McKay's documentary Broadway: The Golden Age. Her acting credits include appearances on the television shows "Alice," "Spiderman" and "Knight Rider," and in the films GoodFellas, Raging Bull, See No Evil Hear No Evil, and Married to It. Onstage, deRoy appeared with Rene Auberjonois in The Threepenny Opera, as well as in The Drunkard with musical direction by Barry Manilow.
