GLEE, LYDIA, et. al Win GLAAD LA Awards

5 Additional GLAAD Media Award winners were announced at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on April 17th. Winners included GLEE, "A Single Man," and the Los Angeles play, LYDIA, by Octavio Solis. The awards were presented at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
The first winners of the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards were held March 13, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The event was hosted by Tony Award winner Alan Cumming. Colman Domingo's 'A Boy and His Soul', produced by the Vineyard Theatre, won the Outstanding New York Theater: Broadway & Off-Broadway award, while 'She Likes Girls' by Chisa Hutchison took home the award in the Outstanding New York Theater: Off-Off-Broadway category. The Broadway musical HAIR received a Special Recognition Award for their support of LGBT equality.

The GLAAD Media Awards elevate and promote fair, accurate and inclusive stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, people and allies that have increased awareness, understanding and respect for the lives of LGBT people. The GLAAD Media Awards also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories of LGBT people and issues that build support for equality.
Additional GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will take place in Los Angeles on April 17, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, and in San Francisco on June 5, 2010 at the Westin St. Francis. At the Los Angeles event, Drew Barrymore will receive the Vanguard Award and Wanda Sykes will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.
