Fall Family Programs Set at the Guggenheim Museum

This fall, the Guggenheim presents a wide variety of programs for families, kids, and teens, including the annual Fall Family Day celebrating Maurizio Cattelan: All. Other exhibitions on view this fall include Kandinksy's Painting with White Border, Intervals: Nicola López, Pop Objects and Icons from the Guggenheim Collection, and Surface, Support, Process: The 1960s Monochrome in the Guggenheim Collection.

SECOND SUNDAY FAMILY TOURS
Suns, Oct 9 and Dec 11, 10:30 am-noon
Families with children ages 5-10
Family-oriented tours that incorporate conversation and creative hands-on gallery activities.

Oct 9: The Extraordinary Everyday
Explore different ways artists help us reexamine the objects that surround us in our everyday life.

Dec 11: Tall Tales
Investigate characters and situations in a selection of works and see the different ways you can fill in the rest of the story.

FAMILY TOUR AND WORKSHOP
Suns, Sept 25 and Dec 4, 11 am-1 pm
Families with children ages 5-10
Following an interactive gallery tour, families create their own work in our studio. All materials included.

Sept 25: Point and Line
View a series of paintings in Lee Ufan: Marking Infinity and explore what Lee Ufan means when he says "I am always playing a game of catch with the canvas." Followed by an experimental painting workshop.

Dec 4: What a Character!
Meet different characters in works on view in the galleries and then create your own character in a puppet-making workshop.

FALL FAMILY DAY

Families with children ages 4-10
Calling all kids, parents, grandparents, and extended family members for an afternoon to explore, create, play, and enjoy performances related to the exhibition Maurizio Cattelan: All.

$15 per family, $10 members, FREE for family members, Cool Culture families, and Guggenheim partner schools. No registration required.

JUST DROP IN!

Families with children ages 3-10
Explore exhibition highlights through creative, interactive projects led by museum educators.

Free with museum admission.

FOR KIDS: ART AFTER SCHOOL
8 Tues beginning Oct 4, 4-6:15 pm
Ages 8-11
Weekly sessions focus on the museum's spectacular Frank Lloyd Wright-designed architecture and Permanent Collection as well as our fall special exhibitions. Gallery visits serve as inspiration for in-depth art projects in the studio exploring a wide range of materials and techniques. The program concludes with a mini-exhibition for family and friends.

Fee: $300 ($250 for members). Includes materials. Registration required 212 423 3637.

FOR TWEENS: YOUR FIRST ARTIST PORTFOLIO
8 Mons beginning Oct 3, 4-6:15 pm
Grades 6-8
This program provides students who are preparing to apply to specialized arts high schools a creative and supportive artistic environment for portfolio preparation. Students work with teaching artists using a wide range of mediums to develop their portfolios.

Fee: $400 ($350 members). Includes materials. Registration required 212 423 3637.

FOR FAMILIES: ANYTIME
Family Activity Pack and Guides
Families with children ages 3-12
The Family Activity Pack prompts conversation, provides information about artwork, and offers hands-on activities sure to engage all ages. Permanent Collection Pack also available.

FREE with museum admission. Available on loan at the Information Desk. Last check-out is at 4 pm.

VISITOR INFORMATION
Admission: Adults $18, students/seniors (65+) $15, members and children under 12 free. Admission includes an audio tour of the current exhibition available in English, and of highlights of the Guggenheim's Permanent Collection, available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian.

Museum Hours: Sun-Wed, 10 am-5:45 pm; Fri, 10 am-5:45 pm; Sat, 10 am-7:45 pm; closed Thurs. On Saturdays, beginning at 5:45 pm, the museum hosts Pay What You Wish. For general information, call 212 423 3500 or visit guggenheim.org.
