Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series, a forum for public discussion between Lincoln Center Theater artists and interested theatergoers, continues its sixth season with pre-performance talks with Mark Lamos, the director of the upcoming production of The Rivals, on Wednesday, December 8 . The Rivals are part of Lincoln Center Theater's 20th Anniversary Season.

Platform Series events take place between the matinee and evening shows on Wednesdays, from 6:30pm to 7:15pm, in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street). Admission is free and open to all; however, seating in the lobby is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis only, beginning at 6:00pm. (Speakers and schedules are subject to change. Mark Lamos directed the Lincoln Center Theater productions of A. R. Gurney's Big Bill and Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, for which he won a Lucille Lortel Award for Best Direction. Currently he is also represented at Lincoln Center with his staging of New York City's Opera, Haroun and the Sea of Stories. In New York he directed the Broadway productions of Our Country's Good (Tony Award nomination), Fascinating Rhythm and The Deep Blue Sea for the Roundabout Theatre Co, and has directed off-Broadway at the NY Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights Horizons, Signature Theatre and Second Stage. Artistic Director of the Hartford Stage from 1980 – 86, he has also directed for the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera.

The Rivals is Lincoln Center Theater's 107th production and is now in previews. It will open on December 16.
