Esparza To Play Serial Killer In Latest Craven Slasher?

  According to the Hollywood Reporter, Broadway star Raul Esparza is slated the serial killer in Wes Craven's newest flick, 25/8, apparently a tentative title.

Crave Online Reports, "Newcomers Nick Lashaway, John Magaro and Paulina Olszynski have also joined the cast, and Raul Esparza is in talks to play the film's serial killer. Lashaway will play a bully, Magaro will play Thierot's comic sidekick, and Olszynski will play a popular beauty among the small-town characters. Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade round out the cast.Principal photography is set to begin this month in Connecticut."

According to IMDB the movie is about "A serial killer who returns to his home town to stalk seven children who share the same birth date as he was allegedly put to rest."

Esparza starred as Bobby in the critically acclaimed Broadway revival Company and won a Drama Desk Award, and recently received a Tony nomination for his work.  His other Broadway credits include Taboo (Tony nom., Drama Desk Award, Best Featured Actor); Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang; Cabaret; Rocky Horror Show (Theatre World Award), and Off-Broadway's The Normal Heart; Comedians; tick, tick, BOOM! (OBIE Award, Drama Desk nom.).  Esparza was  also seen in the national tour of Evita (Joseph Jefferson Nom) and the Kennedy Center Sondheim Celebration's stagings of Sunday in the Park with George (Helen Hayes nom.) and Merrily We Roll Along.
