Emma Thompson looks back at last night's PBS telecast of SWEENEY TODD and shares her excitement for the upcoming ENO production set for 2015!

In a new statement, stage and screen notable Emma Thompson comments on headlining alongside opera superstar Bryn Terfel in this week's LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER telecast of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's acclaimed musical thriller SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET as well as the upcoming English National Opera production planned for 2015.

"I can't believe I am being given the opportunity to perform this extraordinary piece once again - this time with the ENO orchestra," Thompson enthusiastically shares.

"And of course to sing with such a talent as Bryn is as good as it ever gets," Thompson concludes of the experience.

The official description of Live From Lincoln Center's SWEENEY TODD is as follows: "Set in Victorian London, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street tells the story of the eponymous barber who seeks vengeance on what he sees as a merciless world by murdering his customers and, with the help of his landlady, the romantically inclined Mrs. Lovett, bakes their bodies into meat pies, which are fed to London's avid and unknowing populace. Sondheim's score pays homage to the music of Hollywood composer Bernard Hermann. Highlights include "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd," "Not While I'm Around," "A Little Priest," and "Pretty Women". Music Director Alan Gilbert is the conductor, Grant Sturiale is the assistant conductor, Lonny Price is the director ,Lonny Price and Matt Cowart are the producers and Josh Rhodes is the choreographer."
