Sir Elton John may have sold millions of records, won multiple Grammys, and have a Tony Award along with one of Broadway's current hits in Billy Elliot under his belt, but the singer-songwriter hasn't yet made an appearance on one of TV's biggest musical shows: the FOX hit GLEE.

It's not because he doesn't want to: "I love GLEE!" John told E! recently. "I would love to be on...but you have to be asked to be on GLEE."

Matthew Morrison - known to theatergoers as the dapper Link Larkin in 2002's Hairspray or Lieutenant Cable in the 2008 revival of South Pacific - is currently starring as the head of the title GLEE club and recording an album, for which he recently recorded a few songs with Sir Elton himself.

When asked if Morrison invited him to appear on the show, John laughed. "No!" he said, "I mean, there's more people than him on the show."

Whether or not the offer is extended for Elton John to appear on GLEE, the 63-year-old will be kept busy. He recently welcomed baby Zachary to his family, and his songs written for the film Gnomeo & Juliet will be heard by audiences beginning February 11th.
