To mark 40 years since her West End debut Elaine Paige, the UK's ‘First Lady of Musical Theatre', will embark on a concert tour of the UK in February and March 2009. She will perform some of her best known and most loved musical memories alongside an orchestra visiting 14 cities along the way.

Since making her West End debut in Hair in 1968, Elaine Paige has gone on to become a household name and International star. She has brought to life some of the greatest female roles in musical theatre history, released 21 gold and platinum selling albums, and performed around the world for royalty and world leaders. In 2008 Oberon Books released Memories, in which Elaine Paige tells the story in words and archive pictures of her 40 years in the industry. With a foreword by Andrew Lloyd Webber the book tells of her many famous collaborators and leading men, among them Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of Abba, Michael Crawford and Cameron Mackintosh.

Winning the Laurence Olivier Award for ‘Performance of the Year in a Musical' after creating the role of Eva Peron in the original production of Evita, Elaine has played all of the great female roles in productions of Grease, The Boyfriend, The King And I, Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Chess winning major awards along the way.

Elaine continues to work at a furious pace. In 2008 she has performed dates in Europe, China and the USA all the while entertaining over 2 million listeners every Sunday with her own BBC Radio 2 show.

This up-coming concert tour is a chance to join the acclaimed theatrical legend as she takes her audience on an incredible journey through the last 40 years of one of the most renowned musical theatre careers of all time.
