Education at Roundabout Hosts Second Annual College and Career Readiness Day Today

Education at Roundabout Theatre Company will host its second annual College and Career Readiness Day today, November 17th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd Street).

Roundabout's College and Career Readiness Day gives NYC area middle and high school students the opportunity to hear from theatre professionals about their college and career experiences. During the free event, students will prepare for the next phase of their own education by meeting with local college representatives, learning about scholarship opportunities, and receiving feedback on interviewing skills.

College and Career Readiness Day enhances the mission of Education at Roundabout to provide career development opportunities to students and foster a new generation of confident young artists and arts administrators.

Education at Roundabout will provide a two-ride MetroCard and breakfast to all students in attendance.

The Stephen Sondheim Theatre offers a state of the art LEED certified Broadway theatre in which to stage major large-scale musical revivals. Together these distinctive homes serve to enhance Roundabout's work on each of its stages.

Roundabout Theatre Company's 2011-2012 season features Simon Gray's The Common Pursuit, directed by Moisés Kaufman; Mary Chase's Harvey starring Jim Parsons, Jessica Hecht & Charles Kimbrough, directed by Scott Ellis. The 2011 Tony Award winning Anything Goes will set sail on a National Tour at Cleveland's Playhouse Square in October 2012. Following its opening in Cleveland, Anything Goes will cruise into more than 25 other cities during the 2012/2013 season.

Roundabout Theatre Company's 2012-2013 season features Rupert Holmes' The Mystery of Edwin Drood starring Stephanie J. Block, Will Chase, Gregg Edelman, Jim Norton and Chita Rivera, directed by Scott Ellis; Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac, with a translation by Ranjit Bolt, starring Douglas Hodge, directed by Jamie Lloyd; William Inge's Picnic directed by Sam Gold; Nick Payne's If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet directed by Michael Longhurst, with Annie Funke, Michelle Gomez, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brian F. O'Byrne; Clifford Odets' The Big Knife starring Bobby Cannavale, directed by Doug Hughes; Steven Levenson's The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin directed by Scott Ellis.

Joshua Elias Harmon's Bad Jews directed by Daniel Aukin is a world premiere production that launches the sixth season of Roundabout Underground following five critically acclaimed seasons of world-premiere productions since its premiere in 2007.
