The Ed Cherry Trio is set to play Bar Next Door in Manhattan on January 5, 2013, with sets at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. The trio features Ed Cherry on guitar, Pat Bianchi on Hammond B-3 organ and Allison Miller on Drums. $12 cover. Guitarist Ed Cherry has performed with many of the Legends of jazz: Sam Rivers, Henry Threadill , Jimmy Smith, John Patton, Paquito D'Rivera..and from 1978-1992 with Dizzy Gillespie. Currently a member of the Paula West Quartet and Dr. Lonnie Smith's 'In The Beginning' octet; Ed performs here with his current trio-Pat Bianchi playing Hammond B- 3 (Lou Donaldson ,Chuck Loeb, Pat Martino) and Allison Miller on drums (dr. Lonnie Smith Trio)..Ed's most recent cd release "it's all good" on Posi-Tone Records is currently on the JazzWeek radio chart.
