Rabbit Hole Ensemble will present the world premiere of The Transformation of Dr. Jekyll as part of the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival – FringeNYC running August 11th – 27th at the The Cherry Lane Studio (35 Commerce St. between Bedford & Barrow).

"Another mind-twisting psychological thriller from Rabbit Hole, The Transformation of Dr. Jekyll follows philanthropist wunderkind Jekyll who gets the rare chance to literally see himself in a darker light. With the help of two lovely assistants, he journeys through a titillating world of rough sex and rougher violence where control is abandoned with relish and memory is a curse," state press notes.  "With Rabbit Hole's trademark 'Theatre of Essence' – productions stripped down to focus on the actor – this Dr. Jekyll legend promises to expose an even more haunting reality than past versions."

This show features Amanda Broomell, Paul Daily, and Emily Hartford, with costumes by Erin Murphy, and direction by Edward Elefterion.

Writer/ director Edward Elefterion has directed over thirty productions of classics and new plays in NYC, is also a NYTW Usual Suspect and grant recipient, holds an MFA in directing from Indiana University and currently teaches acting and directing at Hofstra University.

"Rabbit Hole Ensemble, a Brooklyn-based, not-for-profit company, emphasizes the communal nature of theatre through a distinctly minimalist aesthetic that focuses on the performer (especially their basic tools of physicality and voice) to produce a uniquely direct and candid experience. Strong stories, told simply and theatrically, without much technology."

Performances run Fri. August 11 at 5pm, Thurs. August 17 at 3pm, Fri. August 18 at 5pm, Sat. August 19 at 12pm, and Fri. August 25 at 6:45pm.  All Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by visiting www.FringeNYC.org or by calling (in New York): 212.279.4488 or (outside New York): 1-888-FringeNYC.  For more information please visit www.rabbitholeensemble.com.
