Downtown Cabaret Holds Auditions for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, 10/14

The Downtown Cabaret Theatre, a professional, non-profit theatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut will hold open auditions for non-union male and female actors for It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry on Wednesday, October 14 at 6pm at the theatre on Golden Hill Street in Bridgeport.

It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is inspired by the classic American film by Frank Capra and is performed in period costume as a 1940's live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Five actors perform dozens of characters and produce the sound effects. Rehearsal for the play begins November 16 and plays December 4-13.

Director Bert Bernardi is seeking three men and two women who play all of the roles made popular in the classic Frank Capra film. Non-union male and female actors are encouraged to audition for the following roles:

JAKE LAURENTS (20's/30's) male, plays George Bailey
FREDDIE FILMORE (30s/50's) male, plays a host of character roles
HARRY HEYWOOD (30's/40's) male, plays host of character roles
SALLY APPLEWHITE (20's/30's) female, plays Mary Bailey
LANA SHERWOOD (30's/40's) female, plays host of character roles.

The theater is seeking honest, warm versatile actors capable of creating many characters both dramatic and comedic using voices and mannerisms. Those auditioning should prepare a brief comic monologue and be prepared to read from the script.
