Doubt Author and Stars Appear at Makor on July 11 for Panel Discussion

John Patrick Shanley, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of DOUBT, will join the production's Tony Award-winning stars Cherry Jones and Brían F. O'Byrne at 92 Street Y's Makor Center (35 West 67th Street) on Monday, July 11 at 7:30 PM. The panel will speak about their experiences with the production. Audience members will be able to ask questions of the panel, moderated by New York 1's Roma Torre.

DOUBT is written by John Patrick Shanley, and directed by Doug Hughes. The production, which is playing on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street), has received the following awards:

Drama Critics Circle Award - Best Play of the 2004-2005 Season
Drama Desk Award - Outstanding Play
Outer Critics Circle Award - Outstanding Broadway Play
Drama League Award - Distinguished Production of a Play

DOUBT stars Cherry Jones as Sister Aloysius and Brían F. O'Byrne as Father Flynn, with Heather Goldenhersh as Sister James and Adriane Lenox as Mrs. Muller.

All four DOUBT cast members have been honored for their performances: Cherry Jones won Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel and Obie awards for Best Actress in a Play; Brían F. O'Byrne received Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards as Best Actor in a Play; Heather Goldenhersh was honored with a Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut; and Adriane Lenox is the winner of the Tony, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play.

Director Doug Hughes received Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Lortel Awards for his direction of DOUBT, and an Obie Award for sustained excellence.

Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, DOUBT is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues…even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?

Set design is by John Lee Beatty, costume design is by Catherine Zuber, lighting design is by Pat Collins, original music and sound design is by David Van Tieghem.

DOUBT is produced by Carole Shorenstein Hays, MTC Productions Inc. (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer), Roger Berlind and Scott Rudin. DOUBT is author John Patrick Shanley's first play to be produced on Broadway.

Performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM.
