David Hyde Pierce Considers Role In Upcoming Broadway Revival HOW TO SUCCEED

By: Jun. 13, 2010

David Hyde Pierce has confirmed reports that he is considering a role in the upcoming Broadway revival "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." The part in question would be J.B. Biggley, the boss of the World Wide Wicket Company. Daniel Radcliffe has already signed on for the project.

Pierce is currently working on the revival of David Hirson's La Bete, in which he plays the character of Elomire. The show is set to begin its Broadway previews on September 23rd at the Music Box Theatre.

The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING is directed and choreographed by Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford bowing on Broadway in spring 2011.

The show will be produced by Broadway Across America, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING will follow Daniel Radcliffe's completion of filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final film of the largest grossing franchise in motion picture history. Further casting and a Broadway theater for this new production will be announced shortly.

"How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" follows the rise of J. Pierpont Finch, who uses his pocket sized handbook (not surprisingly titled "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying") to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive. On the way, he tackles such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant "company man," the mailroom, the boss' whiny, nepotistic nephew, the office party, backstabbing co-workers, a gigantic (and rigged) international television reality show, caffeine addiction (through that most sacred of office institutions, the coffee break) and, of course, true love.
