David Alan Grier Coming to Comix at Foxwoods, 10/18

Comix At Foxwoods presents urban stand-up pioneer and "In Living Color" Legend, David Alan Grier for a one-night, two-show performance on Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Countless theater, television, film and comedic endeavors have pushed David Alan Grier's career to incredible heights over the course of two decades. His ability to excel across all mediums and contexts is a testament to his inherent sense of comic timing and creative drive, which has earned himself multiple Tony and Grammy Award nominations, as well as inclusion on Comedy Central's list of the "100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time."

On the big screen, Grier was recently seen starring in "We The Peeples," produced by Tyler Perry, opposite Kerry Washington and Craig Robinson. Grier made his film debut in "Streamers," directed by Robert Altman for which he won the Golden Lion for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival. He also appeared in the Wayans Brothers' spoof movie "Dance Flick."

Grier's television work is highlighted by a turn as principal cast member on the Emmy Award winning "In Living Color," where he helped to create some of the most memorable characters in the show's history. Grier received a Tony Award nomination, his third, in 2012 for his performance in the "The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess." He also received his first Grammy nomination in 2013 for Best Musical Theater Album in "The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess."
