The Clean House, the much-produced Sarah Ruhl play about the messiness of life, is now set to have its previously announced New York premiere at Lincoln Center's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, where it will begin previews on October 5th, open on October 30th and run through December 17th.
In addition, a creative team has been announced for the production, which will be directed by Bill Rauch. It will comprise Christopher Acebo (sets), Shigeru Yaji (costumes), Jim Ingalls (lighting) and Andre Pluess (sound design and music). No casting has been announced yet.
The Clean House concerns the relationship between two middle-aged sisters--as well as with their newly-arrived Brazilian maid. The winner of the 2004 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and a 2005 Pulitzer Prize finalist, the play has been seen in numerous regional venues already, including Washington, D.C.'s Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, D.C.,
Chicago's Goodman
Theatre, and the Cincinnati Playhouse. It originally premiered at Yale Rep.
