Daphne Rubin-Vega Performs Concert at Joe's Pub in Jan. '06

Daphne Rubin-Vega will perform songs from an upcoming CD at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) on January 9th, 2006 at 7:30 PM.
Rubin-Vega, who received a Tony Award nomination for creating the role of Mimi Marquez in Rent, previously released a CD single of Elton John's "Rocket Man;" it is available on Emerge Records. The performer, who was born in Panama, was also honored with a Tony nod for her most recent Broadway performance in Nilo Cruz' play Anna in the Tropics. She has also been seen on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show, and has appeared off-Broadway in such plays as Gum and Two Sisters and a Piano. Rubin-Vega's screen and TV credits include Wild Things, Flawless, Skeleton Woman, Justice, "Spin City" and "New York Undercover."
