Daniel Radcliffe Talks Awkward Katie Holmes Moment, Potter Fans

When asked about the responses he gets from "Potter" fans, he said, "When I got to the airport in Japan at 13, there were 5,000 people screaming and waiting at arrivals... If I walk down the street there, there is just this kind of snowballing of people. I bumped into this girl in the corridor and said, ‘Oh, I'm sorry.' And boom! [She] just fainted immediately."

Things haven't changed since Radcliffe came to the Broadway stage, starring in a revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING.

"I've been handed some very strange things. I've been given an Etch-A-Sketch, which was kind of awesome. That was a present from a fan I'd never been given before. And, I got told that I smelled good by three people last night," Radcliffe joked.

The actor also told Billy about the performance when he jumped on the couch, referencing Tom Cruise on "Oprah," only to learn that Tom's wife - Katie Holmes - was in the audience.

"I got very, very paranoid that night because she was in the audience and I did it and the audience reaction wasn't nearly as much as it normally is and I was like, ‘Oh man, they all know she's here' and they're like, ‘Wow, this is really awkward!'" he laughed. "But it was."

Radcliffe has starred on Broadway in EQUUS and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING.  Radcliffe will play his final show in HOW TO SUCCEED on January 1, 2012. He has played Harry Potter in all 8 of the franchise's films.  Radcliffe will star in the upcoming film "Woman in Black."
