He has performed on three Grammy-nominated albums, played in the orchestra pits for "The Full Monty" and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", and appears on stage at Lincoln Center in Part III of Tom Stoppard's hit trilogy, "The Coast of Utopia".

Dan Lipton, pianist, songwriter, arranger, and now making his Broadway debut, will be performing Thursday night, March 22 at 11 p.m. at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction, 34 Avenue A (between 2nd and 3rd Streets).

You can hear Lipton on the recorded soundtrack of "The Coast of Utopia" performing the piano for the wonderful score by Mark Bennett in both "Voyage" and "Shipwreck". And if you make snag a ticket for Part III of the Trilogy "Salvage", he'll be playing live underscore and Russian party songs.

Lipton is certainly a musical chameleon. He has accompanied Audra McDonald for over eight years, composed vocal music for "Prometheus Bound" now at the Classic Stage Company, and recently performed with Jason Danieley ("Curtains"). Look for Lipton on the stage again at the Williamstown Theatre Festival supporting B. D. Wong in "Herringbone" directed by Roger Rees in June.

His eclectic songwriting has earned 4 ASCAPPlus Awards for Popular Music.

Performing on March 22 with Lipton will be drummer Damien Bassman, Nicholas D'Amato on bass, with Peter Sachon on electric cello. Special guests will be guitarist Emily Easterly and Steely Dan sideman Michael Leonhart on trumpet and other instruments.
