DVR Alert: APPLICATION PENDING's Christina Bianco Visits NBC's 'Today'
By: TV News Desk Feb. 16, 2015
NBC has announced that Christina Bianco will appear on TODAY today, February 16th to talk about her new off-Broadway play Application Pending.
APPLICATION PENDING is a new comedy by Greg Edwards & Andy Sandberg about the hilariously cutthroat world of kindergarten admissions at New York private schools.
Directed by Sandberg, Application Pending will star Drama Desk nominee Christina Bianco (Forbidden Broadway). Bianco, who became a worldwide Youtube sensation with her diva impression videos, will portray rookie admissions office Christine Evans as well as forty other roles.
Previews began on January 26, 2015 at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036) and Application Pending officially opened on February 10, 2015, playing a limited engagement through April 19, 2015. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Telecharge.com.
Christine Evans (Bianco) is a kindergarten assistant at Edgely Prep, an elite Manhattan private school with an acceptance rate that puts Harvard's to shame. On the day applications are due, Edgely's head of admissions is ousted in a scandal, and Christine is unexpectedly thrust into the job. With phones ringing off the hook, Christine must balance beleaguered applicants, venal administrators, and an army of parents who will stop at nothing to get their kids in.
APPLICATION PENDING will be directed by Andy Sandberg (The Last Smoker in America) and will feature scenic design by Colin McGurk, costume design by Tony Award nominee Michael McDonald (Hair), lighting design by Tony Award winner Jeff Croiter (Peter and the Starcatcher), and sound design by Bart Fasbender (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). The production stage manager will be Pamela Edington, and Baseline Theatrical will serve as general manager. Application Pending is produced by Application Pending LLC, Randi Zuckerberg and Drew Desky, in association with Rose Polidoro/Charles Coplin.
