The producers of London's DIRTY DANCING - The Classic Story on Stage, which has been playing at the Aldwych Theatre since 2006, have announced the show's first UK tour, due to high demand for performances in neighboring cities.

The touring production will kick start in September 2011, first hitting the Bristol Hippodrome (1 September - 8 October), followed by Glasgow's Kings Theatre (19 October - 12 November), Manchester's Palace Theatre (22 November - 7 January 2012), Dublin's Grand Canal Theatre (17 January - 25 February), Aberdeen's His Majesty's Theatre (6 March - 31 March), Southampton's Mayflower (3 April - 28 April) and Milton's Keynes Theatre (1 May - 26 May). Casting details have not yet been announced for the tour.

West End's DIRTY DANCING will continue production through October 29, 2011.

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage, is based upon the 1987 film. It is a coming of age love story about Johnny Castle and Frances 'Baby' Houseman, two talented dancers who unexpectedly meet during Baby's family vacation in New York's Catskill Mountains. Johnny, the resort's dance instructor, takes Baby under his wind, making her his leading lady and against all odds, they fall in love, learning life-changing lessons along the way.
