Complete casting is set for the upcoming Off-Broadway production of Shakespeare's classic historical tragedy Richard II, which will be presented by Classic Stage Company from September 6th through October 15th, with opening night set for September 17th.

Joining Michael Cumpsty in the title role of the doomed king, whose throne is absconded by the ambitious Bolingbroke (played by Graham Winton), will be Jon DeVries as John of Gaunt, George Morfogen as the Duke of York, Doan Ly as Queen Isabelle, David Greenspan as Bagit/Bishop, Jesse Pennington as Aumerle, Craig Baldwin as Northumberland, Ellen Parker as Duchess of York, and Bernarda De Paula as Bushy. Brian Kulick will direct the production.

Cumpsty most recently starred in The Constant Wife on Broadway and in Hamlet in the title role at CSC. His other Broadway credits include Democracy, Enchanted April (Outer Critics Circle nom.), Copenhagen, 42nd Street (Outer Critics Circle nom.), Electra, 1776, The Heiress, Timon of Athens (Bayfield Award) and La Bete. His Royal Shakespeare Company credits include The Winter's Tale and he has performed in numerous productions for the New York Shakespeare Festival.

Richard II will boast sets by Tom Gleeson, costumes by Oana Botez-Ban, lighting by Brian H. Scott, and sound design by Jorge Muelle.
