The new Broadway musical AN AMERICAN IN PARIS opens tonight, April 12, 2015 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street). Scroll down to learn more about the company, plus watch interviews with the cast below!

An American In Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Academy-Award winning film, An American In Paris brings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Craig Lucas.

The cast of An American In Paris includes Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan, Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin, Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Brandon Uranowitz as Adam Hochberg, and Max von Essen as Henri Baurel.

The cast also includes Caitlin Abraham, Will Burton, Attila Joey Csiki, Michael Cusumano, Taeler Cyrus, Ashlee Dupré, Rebecca Eichenberger, Sara Esty, Laura Feig, Jennie Ford, Kurt Froman, Heather Lang, Dustin Layton, Nathan Madden, Gia Mongell, Candy Olsen, Rebecca Riker, Adam Rogers, Sam Rogers, Shannon Rugani, Garen Scribner, Sam Strasfeld, Sarrah Strimel, Charlie Sutton, Allison Walsh, Scott Willis and Victor J. Wisehart.

An American In Paris is the romantic story of a young American soldier, a beautiful French girl and an indomitable European city, each yearning for a new beginning in the aftermath of war.


ROBERT FAIRCHILD
Jerry

Fairchild is a member of NYCB, where he has been enjoying his status as principal dancer for the past 5 years. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he began his dance training at age four. Formal ballet training began with The Ballet West Conservatory. Once Fairchild became an apprentice with NYCB the following year he joined the Company as a member of the Corps de Ballet. He was quickly promoted to soloist with NYCB soon after promoted to principal in 2009. Fairchild originated the role of Romeo in Peter Martins' Romeo and Juliet featured in the PBS Live From Lincoln Center television broadcast. Last season Fairchild played the role of Carousel Boy in the NY Philharmonic's Emmy nominated production of Carousel directed by John Rando and choreographed by Warren Carlyle. He is a Recipient of the Mae L. Wien Award for Outstanding Promise at The School of American Ballet. Fairchild is newly married to Principal Dancer Tiler Peck, also of NYCB.

LEANNE COPE
Lise

Cope was trained at the Royal Ballet school and graduated into the company in 2003. She has created several roles for the company and has built a strong relationship with The Royal Ballets Artist in Resident Liam Scarlett who describes her as having 'a presence on stage like no other.' Copes creations include Emily Dimmock and Annie E Crook (Sweet Violets) Gretel (Hansel and Gretel). Other repertoire with the company includes Clara (Nutcracker) Princess Louise (Mayerling) and many more. Leanne is excited to be making her Broadway debut and would not have achieved this without the support of her friends, family and husband.

VEANNE COX
Madame Baurel

Von Essen has appeared on Broadway in Evita, LES MISERABLES (revival and closing company of the original), Dance of the Vampires, Jesus Christ Superstar and in the Broadway tours of Xanadu and Chicago.
