The Metropolitan Museum of Art presents an evening with Cinema 16 on June 3 at 7 p.m., featuring screenings of six short experimental films accompanied by newly commissioned live music.

Nick Zinner and Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Shahin Motia of Oneida, and MV Carbon of Metalux will perform their musical score for avant-garde films by Andy Warhol, Rudy Burckhardt, Edgard Varèse and Le Corbusier, Gina Carducci, Herbert Kosower, and Francis Thompson.

The program was organized by Molly Surno, Creative Director and Curator of Cinema 16. The selection of films was inspired by the exhibition Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsmen from Italy to New York, drawing from the concept of the city as muse. The musical score focuses on a very contemporary combination of instruments: electric guitars, drums, and cello.

Jayson Kerr Dobney, Associate Curator and Administrator in the Museum's Department of Musical Instruments, will introduce Guitar Heroes. The event is presented by the College Group at the Met.
