The Chelsea Art Fair will bring some of the best UK galleries to the heart of Chelsea to exhibit at the Chelsea Old Town Hall again from today, April 16 to Sunday, April 19, 2015. Fair director Ben Cooper has selected around 40 of the most respected modern and contemporary art galleries from around the country to show their highlights of original Contemporary works of art - many of which will be shown for the first time.

The chic boutique Fair offers a wide selection of well-known artists and some new discoveries and includes flat as well as three-dimensional works with prices up to £50,000. Popular with collectors due to its rigorous selection process, the Fair is also ideal for those visitors starting to buy art as it encourages to take their time to look around and talk to dealers in a relaxing, contemporary atmosphere. Galleries exhibiting include Cornwall Contemporary, Lighthouse Gallery, Art World Gallery and White Space Art from the South West and Bristol-based Lime Tree Gallery and Muse Sculpture Gallery from Gloucestershire. Brighton's Cameron Contemporary Art is exhibiting as well as London and Home Counties' galleries including Carina Haslam, Neville Contemporary, John Iddon, Sheridan Russell Gallery, Wren Gallery and Putney's Russell Gallery. Artists include Simeon Stafford, who was taught to paint at the age of nine and encouraged by Lowry who was a family friend. His paintings are in private collections of HRH The Queen, Tony Blair and many other high profile names and he will be represented by Cornwall Contemporary at the Fair. Scottish artist Steven Lindsay, who can claim a few hit singles in the 80's with his band 'The Big Dish' returned to his roots as Glasgow Art School graduate and is now both a painter and singer/songwriter.

Ben Cooper, the Fair's director, says: " Since our revamp three years ago, the Fair has gone from strength to strength and we have very much established ourselves as the London Fair which offers Londoners a fantastic selection of galleries with a variety of works which appeal to a wide range of art lovers."

There will be some exciting talks on various aspects of modern and contemporary art to give visitors the opportunity to engage more with the art on view (more info below). The Chelsea Art Fair will support the local charity, Children's Hospital Trust Fund this year and a percentage of specific works of art will go directly to the charity.
