Previews are now underway for Pirates! The Penzance Musical, which opens April 24 at the Todd Haimes Theater. What is the show all about? 

In Pirates! The Penzance Musical, the pirate ship docks in New Orleans in this jazzy-bluesy vision of the crowd-pleasing Gilbert and Sullivan classic, in an outrageously clever romp sizzling with Caribbean rhythms and French Quarter flair. With the tongue-twisting Major-General, the rabble-rousing Pirate King, newly-imagined young lovers, daring daughters, footloose pirates and fleet-footed police, there's a shipload of musical comedy delights on board to dazzle first-timers and G&S aficionados alike. 

"I love the Pirate King because he's so dumb! I'm learning all of the skills to be a swashbuckler and trying to look tough because he's a cut-throat pirate, but he's got the biggest heart and he's so naive at times," Ramin Karimloo said of his character. "Unfortunately, piracy doesn't pay and my crew thankfully is somehow still sticking with me!"
