Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris, who plays the title role in the hit Sweeney Todd revival, is requesting help in raising funds to fight multiple sclerosis.

Cerveris will be one of the estimated 6,000 walkers participating in the 2006 MS Walk being held on Staten Island (April 22nd) and in Manhattan (April 23rd). This year, the goal is to raise $3.3 million.

"Last year I asked many of you to support my participation in the MS walk, and many of you were able to. My dog, Gibson, and I had a fantastic 7.5 mile walk through Lower Manhattan and raised $2000 to help fund crucial research and support programs for people dealing with MS," he writes.

Contributors can send money via a secure online credit card transaction, or send a check to Cerveris. "I understand if you're unable to contribute and thanks for even considering it. If you can help with even one dollar, you'll be part of this most worthy effort to conquer this devastating disease that strikes young adults in the prime of their lives," he continues.
