Cast of 'Eccentricities' Honors Williams At B&N, 4/15

 New York: Barnes & Noble and The Actors Company Theatre to celebrate Tennessee Williams as he continues takes over New York. This event is free to the public and will take place on Tuesday, April 15 at 7PM AT Barnes & Noble (2289 Broadway @ 82nd - 212-362-8835).
 
To honor the playwright the cast of the upcoming highly anticipated TACT production of  William's The Eccentricities of a Nightingale will delve into the life of the author as they offer a unique look into some of the biographical details, letters, journal entries and notes that Williams drew upon in his decades long attempt to refine and crystallize the story of, one of his favorite characters, Alma Winemiller.  "Ms. Alma" is the central character in not one, but two of his plays, Summer and Smoke as well as Eccentricities.  It is the Alma of Eccentricities that is considered by Williams to be the deepest, most personal embodiment of his own artistic self even as he struggled to bring her satisfactorily to life in his writing.
 
Reading passages from source materials and the final script and discussing their own insights will be director, Jenn Thompson and cast members,  Mary Bacon (Alma Winemiller), Todd Gearhart ( John Buchanan), Larry Keith (Rev. Winemiller), Darrie Lawrence (Mrs. Buchanan), and Nora Chester (Mrs. Winemiller).
