Broadway's 'Rent' Announces New Summer Schedule

The Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical Rent will play a summer schedule effective Monday, July 9. The summer schedule will be Monday through Saturday at 8pm with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2pm (with no Sunday performances). Rent resumes its regular playing schedule—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday through Saturday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 2pm and 7pm—beginning Monday, September 3.

Rent, written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif, opened at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre, on April 29, 1996 following a history making, sold out, extended limited engagement at off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop. The musical went on to win every major best musical award, including the Tony Award, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for drama.Rent is the seventh longest running show in Broadway history.

As previously announced, original cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp return to the respective parts of Roger and Mark on July 30th for a limited run through September 9th.

Rent plays at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41 Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues). Tickets, priced $45-$100, can be purchased by calling TicketMaster at (212) 307-4100.
