Amanda Green and Tom Kitt have invited a few extra-special friends to join in the musical naughtiness when they Play with Themselves at Birdland (315 W. 44th St.) on Monday, October 17th at 7pm. The concert is part of The Third Season, presented by Jim Caruso and TheaterMania.com, which features top Broadway performers and songwriters at the legendary club.

Joining in the fun will be Broadway dazzlers Brooks Ashmanskas (On The Twentieth Century, The Producers), Jenn Colella (SLUT, Urban Cowboy), Jeny Foote (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Amy Spanger (Feeling Electric, Chicago). This cast, along with lyricist Green and composer Kitt, will perform songs from a number of their shows and projects, including High Fidelity, Feeling Electric, Debbie Does Dallas, and the upcoming Broadway-bound musical High Fidelity.

The winner of two MAC Awards, a Bistro Award and the recipient of a 2004 Jonathan Larson Award and grant for excellence in songwriting, Amanda Green is the daughter of a man who knew a thing or two about writing lyrics--Adolph Green. She recently penned additional lyrics for a production of Styne, Comden and Green's Hallelujah, Baby at Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage; the show is slated to come to New York in 2006. She also co-starred in and wrote the lyrics for For the Love of Tiffany: a Wifetime Original Musical, which played the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival, and other credits include the LA musical Up the Week Without a Paddle and her hit revue Put A Little Love in Your Mouth: The Tongue-in-Cheek Songs of Amanda Green.

Tom Kitt was recently represented at this year's New York Musical Theatre festival with the musical Feeling Electric, starring Amy Spanger and Anthony Rapp; the show featured a book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. An arranger, musical director, orchestrator, musician and conductor as well as a composer, he has worked on Broadway's Laugh Whore, Urban Cowboy and An Evening with Mario Cantone, as well as off-Broadway's Debbie Does Dallas. He is the leader of the Tom Kitt Band.
