It's almost #Hamiltime! In just a matter of days (July 3), Disney+ will broadcast the hugely-anticipated Hamilton, captured live on stage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2016.

Today, the countdown continues as we rewind to February 24, 2015- just days after opening night off-Broadway. Watch as The Public Theater's Oskar Eustis, producer Jeffrey Seller, and of course, Lin-Manuel Miranda make the joyous announcement that the show would open at the Richard Rodgers Theater that summer.

"It's immensely moving to see this show that reflects back to the audience what our dreams about America are," said Eustis that day. "You can see it inspiring the audience to remember our best selves... the better angles of our nature, and that's a wonderful thing."

"This show never stops surprising me," added Seller. "It doesn't stop surprising me as an audience member, as an emotional being, as an intellectual being... It doesn't stop surprising me how white people, and brown people, and black people, and old people, and young people enjoy it. I've never had a show that has effected so much of the population."
