Broadway producer/theatre owner Rocco Landesman, president of Jujamcyn Theatres, will be presented with a special award by the Times Square Alliance for his longtime support of design, as part of the Alliance's Design Times Square initiative.  The Award will be presented on Thursday at a ceremony at the W Times Square, 1567 Broadway, Fifth Floor.

Design Times Square celebrates innovative quality design at the Crossroads of the World, and encourages businesses and property owners to think about the aesthetic value of their spaces and places.  From fifty nominees, a jury of design professionals selected twenty-six of the areas most exciting buildings, commercial signs, retail interiors and public art for this years competition.  Over the next four months, the public is invited to vote either on-line or by ballot to determine their three 2005 Top Choices for Design Times Square 2005. Voting opens September 15, 2005  at www.timessquarenyc.org/design and continues through New Years Eve.  Through a random drawing, all voters are eligible to win great Times Square prizes, including a night in one of the areas chic hotels, dinner at top restaurant, and tickets to a Broadway show.

Among the 26 finalists are: the interior of the Byzantine-style Al Hirschfeld Theatre on 45th Street; the lush Renaissance-style interior of the St. James Theatre on 44th Street; the shimmery Razzle Dazzle sign that advertises Chicago, and the recent renovation of the Hudson Theatre on 44th Street, which revealed original Tiffany stained-glass windows.
