Broadway Producer Michael Filerman Dies at 76

Highly acclaimed television and Broadway producer Michael Filerman passed away last night in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. He was 76 years old.

Though perhaps best known as one of Lorimar Productions' top producers, having a hand in CBS' KNOT'S LANDING, Filerman also produced DALLAS, FALCON CREST, and SISTERS.

He was also instrumental in bringing such hits as the Broadway's revival of NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, DRIVING MISS DAISY, A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, A CHRISTMAS STORY - THE MUSICAL, ENRON, and BLITHE SPIRIT, and more to the stage.

His other producing credits include the national tour of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, Off-Broadway's OUR LADY OF 121ST STREET, TEA AT FIVE, and BASH'D. Filerman also helped bring FROZEN, THE HOMECOMING, THE COUNTRY GIRL, and IMPRESSIONISM to the Great White Way.
