And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Cicely Tyson, who turns 92 today!
Cicely Tyson last starred on Broadway opposite James Earl Jones in THE GIN GAME. Before that, she won a Tony and a Drama Desk Award for her role in THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL in 2013. Among her other Broadway credits are THE CORN IS GREEN, TRUMPETS OF THE LORD, CARRY ME BACK TO MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, A HAND IS ON THE GATE, TIGER, TIGER BURNING BRIGHT, THE COOL WORLD and JOLLY's PROGRESS, as well as Off-Broadway's MOON ON A RAINBOW SHAWL. The actress has recently appeared on the small screen in HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER and HOUSE OF CARDS and is well known for her part in the film THE HELP. Cicely received the Presidential Medal of Freedom this year.
