Deadline has reported that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig have signed on to develop an original musical for Amblin Entertainment.

With a score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and a book by Steven Levenson (Dear Evan Hansen) the musical will be based on the book Everything Is Coming Up Profits: The Golden Age Of Industrial Musicals. Marc Platt, producer of successful musical ventures Grease Live! and this year's movie musical sensation, La La Land, has signed on to produce along with Adam Siegel.
