Blue Mountain Gallery will present selected oil paintings by Shelley Joy.  Described as "a high-spirited American original, she’s a visionary.  Her knowledge and experience of dance, acting, and music all embody the word 'Artist.'  She believes in multi-faceted creativity when it comes to art, the art world and collaborations."

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Shelley Joy set the stage for her artistic career at the age of 15, and held her first exhibition at the Museo de San Miguel de Allende in Mexico.

She continued her studies in Greece at the Aegina Arts Center. She also received formal studio training at The Boston Museum School of Fine Arts and the Arts Students League in New York. She has shown works in the Museum of Modern Art, N.Y.C.; the Toyamaya Museum, Japan; the Vanderbilt Museum, L.I.; and the New Atrium Museum of the Louvre. 

Ms. Joy has had solo exhibitions in New York City at Toyamaya International Inc., Domus Design Center, and Sunda Fine Art.  At Lever House, in the Visual Individualist United show, she won an award and was a guest lecturer. Also, she showed through Visual Individualist United at the House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. (grant made possible by Charles E. Schumer). Among numerous group shows, she has shown at the Ambassador Galleries LTD along with Jerry Garcia, David Bowie and Ronnie Woods; at Charles Lucien Gallery with Keith Haring; and at Puccio Gallery LTD., N.Y.C.
