The award winning talent on Bay Street's stage continues, as the next production swung into full gear on July 7th with Mercedes Ruehl in the American Premiere of Dinner. In this outrageously funny chiller by Moira Buffini, the climax is one that audiences should be careful not to share with others!

Press notes describe 'Dinner' as, "When an artist, a scientist and a sexpot all end up at dinner together, the sparks begin to fly as this particular evening turns a celebratory event into a dinner party from hell. The meal begins when Paige, the hostess extraordinaire played by Mercedes Ruehl, is celebrating the publication of her husband Lars' bestseller. Lars, played by Bay Street returnee Daniel Gerroll, together with the other guests, create an evening that quickly deteriorates into mayhem. Actors J. Smith-Cameron as Wynne, Reed Birney as Hal, and Laura Campbell as his wife Sian, round out the group of invited guests. When a stranger arrives, played by Brian Hutchison, the evening takes on a different tenor and the pot begins to boil."

Dinner first premiered in November 2002 in London, at the Royal National Theatre's Loft space, and Bay Street's production represents the American Premiere. Dinner previews began Tuesday, July 7th with opening night celebrated this evening, Saturday, July 11th. The show runs Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, and Sundays at 7pm, with matinees beginning Wednesday, July 15 at 2pm and Saturdays after that at 4pm through the run. Tickets are $55 and $65.

This year through the support of Target, Bay Street will offer "two for the price of one" tickets for the Mainstage performances, each day beginning at 2 pm. "Target Twofers @ 2" provides an affordable way for theater-lovers to see a professional, Broadway-caliber production at a greatly reduced price, similar to Broadway's TKTS. The program will be offered all day for the first preview performance (July 7th), and for all matinee performances. Twofer tickets are based on availability, day of only, and may only be purchased in person at the Bay Street Box Office, located on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.baystreet.org or by calling the Box Office at 631-725-9500, or in person at the Box Office, open daily at 11am.
