Baume & Mercier announced today the introduction of a short film series titled, "Celebrate Giving," that brings to life the beauty of the adage - "it is better to give, than to receive." The first film just launched today, in time for the holiday season on www.baume-et-mercier.com and its social media platforms.

The film captures the spirit of family togetherness during the holiday season, and the beauty of gift giving. The short film celebrates the ideal holiday scenario where parents warmly welcome their adult children and significant others home for the holidays. The parents mark this special occasion by gifting their son and daughter each a specially-engraved Baume & Mercier watch - a timeless steel Clifton watch for him and a classic Linea watch with a red strap for her. The film also features original music by LEWIS whose soulful and modern sound provides a spirited holiday soundtrack. Wardrobe was provided by Paul Stuart, the leading arbiter of style for luxury men's and women's wear.

Baume & Mercier chose to introduce a short film element to their marketing strategy as it further enhances the brand's opportunity to tell meaningful stories while engaging the consumer on an emotional level. Baume & Mercier prides itself on being the companion to life's celebratory moments, and the video was the perfect platform to illustrate this tradition. The film will introduce the brand to potential new customers while affirming for others who already own and love the brand.

Rudy Chavez, President, Baume & Mercier North America, explains, "Video content is a beautiful and appropriate way to tell a story. And since our brand celebrates giving and marking life moments, video has the ability to convey emotions and the beauty of personal relationships in a way no other medium can."

With the launch of this short film series, Baume & Mercier aims to reach a larger audience including millennials and their baby boomer parents. The video will be highlighted through online channels including its own website, social media platforms, video hosting platforms, and fans that choose to share with their friends. This film will hopefully inspire consumers to choose a meaningful, engraveable gift this holiday season, that their loved ones will hold onto and cherish forever.

Baume & Mercier, the seventh oldest watch brand in the world, continues to stay relevant after 183 years by focusing on the heritage of the brand since it is its past that inspires its future. Since it was founded in 1830, new and compelling products continue to be introduced inspired by their vintage pieces. This maintains the brand's classic yet modern DNA and "Life Is About Moments" mantra. This message envelops Baume & Mercier's core values of family sharing, emotional togetherness, rich authenticity and relaxed elegance.

Behind the Scenes

Jeff Grover, the actor cast to play the father owns his own vintage Baume & Mercier that was given to him by his own parents for his 35 th birthday. It remains one of his most cherished possessions.

LEWISrewrote the lyrics to their soon-to-be released holiday song to fit the storyline of the film.

The "Celebrate Giving" film series is being produced by 3 rd Strand, a full service boutique production house specializing in exceptional storytelling and advertising solutions for the jewelry industry. Baume & Mercier's next short film in this series will be released Spring 2014.
