Christine Baranski, Jeff Daniels, George Grizzard, Mark Linn-Baker and Sian Phillips will be among the stars who will appear as part of Manhattan Theatre Club's 2006-2007 season.

Linn-Baker (A Year with Frog and Toad, Side Man) has replaced Adam Arkin in Losing Louie, which will begin previews on September 21st, and open on October 12th at Broadway's Biltmore Theatre.  The American premiere of Simon Mendes da Costa's play will also star the previously-announced Michele Pawk, Matthew Arkin, Jan Maxwell and Scott Cohen.  "How do our childhood memories affect our lives? How do the mistakes of one generation impact the next? And most importantly, why does love make us do such crazy things? This wise and witty new play explores these questions, as two generations of family members work things out in the same bedroom, fifty years apart," state press notes on the play, which was a recent hit in the West End.

Paul Rudnick's Regrets Only, will begin previews on October 19th, 2006 and open on November 14th at New York City Center--Stage I, will star Baranski (Kennedy Center Mame, Rumors, "Cybill"), Phillips (Marlene, An Inspector Calls), Grizzard (Seascape, Judgment at Nuremburg), Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray), Diane Davis (Festen) and David Rasche (Speed-the-Plow).  "The plays: a powerhouse attorney, his deliriously social wife and their closest friend, one of the world's most staggeringly successful fashion designers. Add a daughter's engagement, some major gowns, the President of the United States, and stir," as the play is described in press notes.  Christopher Ashley (All Shook Up) will direct.

Daniels (Fifth of July, films such as The Squid and the Whale) will headline the American premiere of David Harrower's hit British drama Blackbird, which will
begin previews on March 15th, 2007, and open on April 10th on MTC's Stage I.  Previews will begin March 15th, 2007, and the play will open on April 10th. "This powerful, volatile piece begins when Una shows up unexpectedly at the office of Ray, forcing Ray to come to terms with the effects of their relationship. Una pulls Ray into an encounter that is gripping, surprising and utterly unforgettable."  Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello (Wicked, Assassins) will direct; the role of Una has not yet been cast.

MTC's 2006-2007 season will also include a revival of Clifford Odets' drama The Country Girl and the premiere of Charles Busch's Our Leading Lady.
