The hit comedy Buyer & Cellar will play its 100th performance tonight at the Barrow Street Theatre, where it is currently playing an open-ended run and continues to break box office records.

The play's producers recently announced that the play has recouped its initial investment in just nine weeks, becoming the fastest off-Broadway show to do so in recent history.

Buyer & Cellar star Michael Urie is set to perform the play in Los Angeles at the Mark Taper Forum and in Chicago with Broadway in Chicago in 2014. Discussions are currently underway for productions in other cities, including San Francisco, Toronto, and Dallas, among others.

The New York Times critics Ben Brantley and Charles Isherwood recently raved about the play. Brantley wrote that Buyer & Cellar is "the most talked about new comedy of the season." "It goes down as easily and tastily as lemon sorbet, and the only pain in your stomach it creates is the kind that comes from laughing too hard." Isherwood--on WQXR Radio--called the hit comedy "very funny" and "a tour-de-force performance."

Buyer & Cellar, starring Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty"), written by Jonathan Tolins, and directed by Stephen Brackett, plays Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm at the Barrow Street Theatre, 27 Barrow Street, east of Seventh Avenue South. Beginning on October 24 the performance schedule will be Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Sunday at 7:30pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm. There will be no performance on Tuesday, October 15. Nearby subway stops are the 1 at Christopher Street (walk one block south on Seventh Avenue South to Barrow) and the A, C, E, B, D, F, and M at West 4th Street (walk west on West 4th Street, left on Barrow). Tickets are $75 and may be purchased by phoning 212 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com. The Barrow Street Theatre box office opens daily at 1pm.
