Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights Aids has just announced the dates for two of their biggest summer events: Broadway Barks and the Broadway Flea Market. Broadway Barks, the star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies, will return for a 13th year this summer.

The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will again take place in Shubert Alley on July 9 with festivities beginning at 3:30 pm and celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters beginning at 5:30 pm. Broadway Barks 13 will help many of New York City's shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of "homeless" dogs and cats in the metropolitan area.

The event is free. Funds raised from a raffle, silent auction, signed memorabilia sales and donations are distributed to the participating shelters and rescue groups and to the Picasso Veterinary Fund, which is administered by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals and provides grants to shelters and rescue groups to cover extraordinary veterinary costs.

Last year's Broadway Barks, hosted by founders Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, attracted more than 7,500 theatre fans, pet owners, animal lovers and Broadway stars from the hit shows of the season. The event featured the participation of more than 27 animal shelters from the New York City area, which led to a total of more than 200 adoptions.

Broadway dreams can come true as you find showbiz treasures, meet the stars and bid on once-in-a-lifetime items and experiences at the 26th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction. Make your plans now to spend Saturday, September 25 with Broadway Cares and thousands of other theatre fans combing through Shubert Alley and along West 44th Street for those one-of-a-kind keepsakes. This not-to-be-missed event for any serious Broadway theatergoer is free and open to the public and has been called one of the "Best Once-a-Year Markets" in New York City.

From photos with your favorite Broadway star to buying that lost cast recording, signed show posters and Playbills, rare costume sketches or special gift for a theatre-lover you can't find anywhere - this year's Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction promises to offer something for everyone.

Specific items for sale at the Flea Market, packages to be auctioned and stars to appear at the Celebrity Autograph Table will be announced later.
