Koberet is returning to New York this summer as part of the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival. After storming downtown NYC venues Joe's Pub and (Le) Poisson Rouge, Andrew Kober moves back where he belongs – midtown Manhattan (just off Broadway) – with two performances at 7pm and 10:30pm on Monday, July 16 at the 45th Street Theatre.

Originally seen by 100 Ohioans in the auditorium of Shaker Heights High, this updated Koberet is an even more self-indulgent version of the phenomenon that took the Midwest by storm ten years ago. In it, Broadway's most beloved and under-employed actor muses on coming out, going in, gaining weight and getting thin.

This event brings back together the creative team behind New York's first two Koberet outings: director David Ruttura (currently Resident Director of Spider-man), music director Matt Hinkley (Associate Music Director of Godspell), and producer Katie Riegel (jokr productions).

Perhaps just as well-known in the New York theater community for his Twitter following as his performance in Hair, Kober is once again offering an online contest to allow one and all to help choose a song for him to perform. (Kober's performance of former winners, Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." and Cee-Lo Green's "F*ck You" can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W76vHJ-rsRc &https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SE9XwqFIHA) Voters can participate by emailing their pick from the song list below tokoberet@jokrproductions.com  or tweeting to Andrew via @andrewkober (www.twitter.com/andrewkober) by Friday, July 6. The winning song will be revealed the evening of the show. The song choices are:

-          "Call Me Maybe"

-          "What Makes You Beautiful"

-          "We Are Young"

-          "I Enjoy Being a Girl"

-          "Rumor Has It"

Andrew Kober is originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, and holds a BFA in Acting from Carnegie Mellon University. Previous credits include the original Shakespeare in the Park, Broadway, and West End revival casts of Hair (2009 Tony Award for Best Revival), the First National Tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling BeeCrazy Just Like Me, and Most Likely to Die (NYMF), as well as many readings, workshops, and concerts around New York City. He has performed his solo show, Koberet, to sold-out crowds at Joe's Pub, (le) Poisson Rouge and Feinstein's. Andrew has also been seen on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" and ABC's "Pan Am", as well as the upcoming short film, Chin Up. You can hear him on the Original Revival Cast Recording of Hair, and Bobby Cronin's debut album, "Reach the Sky". Follow him on Twitter @andrewkober.

Tickets are $25 and are available now online at nymf.orghttp://www.nymf.org/module-ShowManager-display-sid-2031.html. The 45th Street Theatre is located at 354 West 45th Street, New York, NY 10036.
