The Bucks County Playhouse announced today that Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox will join the cast for the limited engagement of The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler and directed by Karen Carpenter. Performances will be Wednesday, February 13 - Sunday, February 17 at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street in New Hope, PA).

Adriane Lenox is best known for her Tony Award winning role in Broadway's Doubt for which she also won a Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk Award. Other Broadway credits include Chicago, Caroline or Change, Ain't Misbehavin', and Kiss Me Kate. She has numerous television and film credits including The Blind Side opposite Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock.

An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, The Vagina Monologues introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it." The Vagina Monologues is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
Earlier this month, BCP Producing Director Jed Bernstein announced that proceeds from this production will benefit Bucks County's only organization to support victims of domestic violence, A Woman's Place.

A Woman's Place (AWP) provides comprehensive free, private, and confidential service, support, education, outreach, and advocacy to victims of domestic and dating violence and their children and the community. $10 from each full priced ticket sold will be donated back to the organization.

Says AWP Executive Director Ifeoma Aduba, "I am in awe. A Woman's Place is beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with such an incredible group as the Bucks County Playhouse and on a production as deeply powerful and important to women as The Vagina Monologues. I hope everyone comes out to celebrate Valentine's Week and this collaboration to benefit our Bucks County community. "
