Acting Up Children's Theatre will hold Auditions for PIPPIN. Once upon a time, the young prince Pippin longed to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He sought it in the glories of the battlefield, The Temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, he found it in the simple pleasures of home and family.

This hip, tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairy tale captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere (the show has become a staple on high school and college campuses). The energetic pop-influenced score by three-time Oscar®-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz ("Godspell," "Children of Eden" and the animated films "Pocahontas," "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame" and "The Prince Of Egypt") bursts with one showstopping number after another, from soaring ballads to infectious dance numbers.

Auditions will be held:
August 26 & 27 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm
The Davis Theatre
Cabarrus County Arts Council
65 Union Street South
Concord, NC 28025

Rehearsals will run Monday through Thursday evenings ; 6:30-8:30pm beginning August 30 - through October. Performances will be October 28, 29, 30 and November 4, 5, 6. Please come prepared to sing at least 16 bars of a song which shows off your best vocal abilities. An accompanist will be provided - so please bring sheet music. Bring a headshot or recent photo, a resume and come dressed prepared to dance. Audition will consist of cold readings from the script.
