The Abstract Sentiment Theatre Company has announcd Macbeth: Tim Burton Meets Shakespeare, a Tim Burton styled Macbeth staged in an asylum. Shakespeare's violent story of one man's fateful journey from good to evil will be presented in a condensed script and visually infused by the inspiration of Tim Burton. Set in a war torn community known as Scotland, at a time when the gears of power are beginning to shift. Families struggle for survival; lords dominate the high-rises and children possess insight and wisdom way beyond their years. Macbeth: Tim Burton Meets Shakespeare will run for eight performances and open tonight, January, 22, 2015 at 8 pm.

"This project began as a single image and a setting. The setting was an asylum and the image was Lady Macbeth obsessively scrubbing her hands with a wire scrubbing brush, making more blood with every desperate attempt to get clean. The futility and vulnerability of this cracking mind fueled by this insatiable inner fire really spoke to us." - Abstract Sentiment Theatre Company

The production features an exceptional cast lead by Byron Hagan as Macbeth and Julia Menn as Lady Macbeth. Filling out the cast are Katherine Bianco, Keith Hale, Hunter Hoffman, Rachel Matusewicz, Daniel Montesano, Kal Parekh and Tuquan Smith.

Macbeth: Tim Burton Meets Shakespeare will be directed by Nick Hrutkay, with Choreography by Sidney Erik Wright, Fight Choreography by Adele Rylands and Lighting Design by Natalie Marmol. Stage Manager for this production will be Rebecca Silbert, Assistant Stage Manager will be Annmargaret Centeno and Allanda Lattin will be Assistant Director.

The production opens Thursday evening, January 22nd and runs through Sunday, February 1, 2015. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and $15 for students.
