ARIADNE AUF NAXOS To Be Presented By Merola Opera Program
Richard Strauss's serio-comic opera comes to San Francisco Conservatory of Music, conducted by Ann-Katrin Stöcker.
San Francisco’s Merola Opera Program will present ARIADNE AUF NAXOS as part of its 2026 season, marking the penultimate production in the organization’s summer festival.
Composed by Richard Strauss, the opera will be conducted by Ann-Katrin Stöcker and directed by Omer Ben Seadia. The serio-comic work blends mythological themes with elements of comic opera and is structured as a play within a play.
The production will be performed in German with English supertitles and will feature artists from the Merola Opera Program.
Tickets and Schedule
Performances will take place on July 30, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. and August 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, located at 50 Oak Street in San Francisco.
Tickets are priced at $75, with $25 tickets available for patrons ages 25 and under. Tickets are currently available to Merola members, with remaining tickets going on sale to the public beginning May 1. Discounted packages are available for the full Merola Summer Festival, with savings offered on multi-production purchases.
