ALADDIN Will Officially Open Summer 2016 in London; Casting Calls Set

ALADDIN will officially fly into the West End in Summer 2016.

As previously reported, Disney and producers were on the hunt for an appropriate theatre, with their eyes on the Prince Edward Theatre. Today, the news is official, with the launch of the production's website.

In a Facebook post, Sir Tim Rice chimed in, saying:

"After all the rumours and months of anticipation, official confirmation of Aladdin's journey across the pond comes without the fanfare afforded to the great Prince Ali but, for the present, in a simple casting call notice from Disney Theatricals posted on 30 July 2016 which sent the internet into a frenzy within moments of its posting. Confirmed is the retention of director/choregrapher Casey Nicholaw, Broadway book writer Chad Beguelin, and songwriters Howard Ashman, Alan Menken, Sir Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin."

ALADDIN will also host open casting calls and auditions this autumn. Auditions will be held in London at Pineapple Studios from 30-31 August 2015, at Birmingham's Ace Dance and Music from 2-3 September 2015, and The Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester from 4-5 September 2015.
